Suspended from a single rope anchored to the wall, Balançoire explores balance and the perception of movement through a curved wooden surface held in tension, creating the impression of a swing resting lightly against the wall.
Although visually unstable, the structure remains fully fixed and balanced through its construction. The curvature of the shelf subtly deforms the horizontal line, reinforcing the sense of movement.
Developed through an interest in playful approaches to furniture, Balançoire transforms a functional shelf into a sculptural object.
