Handwoven in rattan using traditional African basketry techniques, Tonka develops oversized basket forms through gesture.
Scaled beyond their traditional function, the objects move toward a more sculptural presence, where deformations and irregularities become part of their identity.
The project explores the direct relationship between maker and material, allowing the weaving process itself to shape each object individually.
